wrote really good poetry
With rhythm and rhyme
and fine symmetry
The words got him humming.
The humming got him singing
And way down in the alley at night
Down in the dark alley at night

You could hear that cat a’ swinging.

Old Dog could hear him.
Said “I wanna jam to that.”
The Cat said “ That’s cool,
jammin’s where it’s at.”
The dog conjured up some
rhythm and blues
And way down in the alley at night

they were howling at the moon.

They sang Ooo Ooo Ooo
Whatcha gonna do ?

We’re just singing our blues away.

Racoon was listening
from behind the garden gate
Wanted to join in
so he went and tempted fate.
Sang a third harmony
was better with three
And way down in the alley at night
Down in the dark alley at night.
Way down in the alley at night
The mice and crows
and the rabbits and the toads
the owl and the hobo out on the road
were swinging....and singing
swinging and singing too.
