Feels good to walk in these dark misty mountains.
Need to clear my cluttered brain.
I can smell fallen trees, last year’s leaves
New life wet with morning rain.

Sleepy old owl scowling down at me,
saying “Hey boy, what do you see.
in this place of ten thousand things.”
Amazing just how small I can feel

My heart’s beating faster
‘cause I’m climbing high
Saying no to deadlines
and false ideals contrived
I’m breathing harder
and it clears the haze
I’m getting tired,
but that’s good in so many ways

I’m blind as a tree roots finger the earth
Grabbing at anything to anchor me down
All the while branches grow out. New leaves unfurl
With the new life they have found

Sky full of stars. Some flash in the black,
